Joining the SMC

All community run youth football & cheer organizations are invited to join Southern Maryland Conference (SMC). The SMC operates under the AYF’s guiding principles. We are all-inclusive and welcome community youth football & cheer organizations to apply for membership. Membership applications are accepted from January to April of the current season. All youth programs to include affiliates of the Boys & Girls Clubs, Police Athletic, Optimist Clubs, Park and Recreation Leagues, JCC, YMCA, non-scholastic organizations, local community organizations, city leagues, and community centers, independent leagues and others are welcomed and encouraged to participate in the SMC.

To Apply

-Complete the new association application.  Submit your completed application to info@smcayf.com
-You will be contacted within 2 business days to review and discuss your application.
-Your association will be invited to meet with the SMC Board of Directors to complete an in-person interview.
-The interview will consist of a welcome, meet and greet by the SMC Board of Directors and a thorough question and answer session. The interview will take approximately 1.5 hours of your time.
-Your association will be notified in writing of the SMC Board’s decision within 48 hours from the date of your interview.

Our core football teams are Tiny Mites, Mighty Mites, Cadets, Junior Pee Wees and Pee Wees. The weight charts for these age groups are as follows:

The SMC Organizations may apply for acceptance into the SMC in the form of a team, an association (multiple teams), or a league/conference (multiple associations).
The AYF/AYC Membership fee ranges from $15.00 – $30.00 per team / annually. There are NO additional charges for membership.

IT TAKES LESS THEN 10 MINUTES TO BECOME A MEMBER OF AYF!

Once you complete the online registration form – you will have immediate access to MyAYF.com, the members service panel, your organizations’ profile and membership certificate. All members must register/renew their membership each year. The annual membership year is April 1- March 31.
